My oldest child just turned 24.....how did that happen????

Wow, that sounds really old!!!!

I certainly don't feel old enough to have a child that old!!!

But alas, it's true.  My first child was born 24 years ago today!

And what a day it was.....

I remember it like it was yesterday.....

Twenty-seven hours of  labor, two hours of pushing, and one c-section later....

....and there he was, my beautiful baby boy! My splendid gift from God!

Perfect little fingers,
perfect little toes,
one flat little ear, and
a very lopsided head!
(I guess that's what happens when you're stuck, and then pulled out via c-section!)

I am so proud of him.  He has been a blessing from day one.  It has been my pleasure parenting him....
watching him grow from a baby to a child to a teenager to a man!

He will be graduating from college next spring...
and I am sure I hear wedding bells....

He will be a wonderful husband and an amazing father (someday)...

I am just so pleased he turn out so well.  (Thank you Jesus!)

You see, he was my 'practice' child....I really didn't know what the heck I was doing....I was young (only 23), and kinda spazzy....very inexperienced and quite insecure....

When I think back to those early years, phew....it is only by the grace of God, some good friends, and lots of phone calls to my mom that we all survived!!!!

He was also the child from whom I heard for the first time ever....
this precious word....

mama....

what a honor for me!

He was also the inspiration for all his siblings. He was so much fun....I wanted more! !!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Drew!!!!!
You are my delight and my joy! I thank God for you every day. I am a very blessed woman!!!

(Look at him.....what a cutie!!)

I just wish we could all be together today!

I love you!!

Oh yeah, he is also a self-proclaimed 'mama's boy'! Gotta love that! :)
