Sunday Snapshot {Destination: Cupcake Shoppe}

Our quaint, little town has recently acquired a new place to gain a few pounds enjoy one of our favorite foods:

Cupcakes!!!

The girls and I thought this would be a good opportunity for us to hang out together as well as delight our taste buds!

Do they look excited, or what?

Avery ordered a very traditional cupcake:
Chocolate with orange butter cream frosting......mmmmmm

Shea:
Cookies and Cream cupcake.....amazing!

Faith:
Pumpkin Cheesecake cupcake....holy moly!

Mom, also went the traditional route:
Vanilla with vanilla butter cream frosting.....sounds boring, but it was absolutely heavenly!

Let the Cupcake Eating Games begin!

First a little sharing.

Might I add....
Just a very small amount of sharing occurred!

The Littles completely enjoyed this eating experience.

Follow along.....

Shea is definitely my 'robust' eater! A hands on sort of girl.

 First a little taste.

Then complete commitment!

Food on the face...
Always a good sign!

This cupcake passed the test!
One happy girl!

Avery takes a more gentle, tentative, thoughtful approach.....

 A small and tidy bite!

I think she is enjoying it!

 Very focused!
Completely absorbed, this little one is!

Slow & Steady!

Avery eventually finished her cupcake....I had to help....what a burden!

Faith also immensely enjoyed her cupcake....
Look at her, little "Miss Skinny"...
She should have been the one helping Avery!

Overall, our Cupcake Excursion was a success!
We will more than likely be making multiple visits to this shoppe in the future!

  1. What a fun place! That makes me realize that I need to take advantage of the cupcake shoppe in my city. Never thought of it for a 'girls day' adventure. Thanks for the idea!
And pumpkin cheesecake? Oh my, sounds heavenly!

  2. Our family loves cupcakes too. Any old excuse and we're either making them or hanging out at a cupcake shop!

    Cute and sweet girlies!

  3. State College got two cupcake shops this year and they're both very good. One is more of a mom-and-pop operation while the other is definitely a boutique. It seems like cupcakes are this year's trend. It looks like you all had a lot of fun!

  5. Oh the cupcake shoppe looks RIGHT up my alley!! I have trying to find a place like this for Mya's Pinkalicious party this January - don't you imagine a little bakery or cupcake shoppe being the perfect setting for a fun cupcake loving party!?!??! YOU should have one there, so I can live vicariously through you ;)

I LOVE Pumpkin - but the orange cream looks pretty dreamy too!!

  6. Oh, cupcake shops are so much fun! I know they are trendy and everything, but I love them. Glad y'all had such a good time. (And the Tongginator's favorite book right now is about a cupcake shop: "It's Raining Cupcakes!")

  8. Chris,
You are one of the winners from The Blessings site drawing held last month! You won a funky camera strap cover made by a fellow adoptive mom (who is currently IN China receiving her new son!) I couldn't find your contact info until now--please email me ASAP so you can choose one of the strap fabrics from the photos I can email you, before I list them on the Silent Auction on Wednesday, if possible!
    Thanks!

  10. Loved the pictures and how your girls "attacked" their cupcakes in different ways. I'd have one "go for it" and one "tiny bites" kiddo too! :)
