Sunday Snapshot: {Saying good-bye....to Scott}

It's never easy......

Especially when you have to say good-bye to your big brother!
Especially when he is moving 8 hours away!!!

We knew it was coming......

We all knew he had to leave....
We all knew he was about to begin a new chapter in his life....
We are all very excited for him....and Stephanie....my future DIL!!  Have I told y'all how much I love this girl!!????

Still, it is hard to say good-bye!

Scott has been Shea's hero and friend and big-brother for the past three years.
She adores him!
And he feel the same towards her!

And this little peanut......

Well, she has fallen head over heels in love with him!!!

He actually moved out two weeks ago.......

I just needed to wait and compose myself before I could actually post about it!
(I know, what a big baby I am!!!)

Oh, how I miss this son of mine.....

He always knows just how to make me laugh!
He is a pretty funny guy!

He is a good son. A really good son!!!

He is going to be a fantastic husband!!!

He is getting married in two weeks!!!!

He is beginning a journey of a life time!!

This is what we do...
We parents...
We love our kids to pieces, we teach them the ways of the Lord., we raise them to become respectable adults, and then....
they get to  live their own lives!!!
This is what we do!!!
Sigh!

Today also  just happens to be Scott's birthday...his 'Golden' birthday!!

Happy 23rd Birthday!!!

You are so loved, my son!!!

Ni Hao Y'all

  1. Oh, I so don't want this day to come in my life. I have an incredible son too. He is only nine, but that means that he is half way through his time with us, really. Looks like you have done an amazing job with your son. He seems like a wonderful man! Congrats on your new DIL too.

  3. Oh my...
What a beautiful tribute to your son. And a sobering reminder that one day my Caleb will be leaving the nest.
I love your summary of our role as parents. So true, so true.

  9. Oh, Chris, I feel your pain. It's hard when our kids grow up and move out. We want them to, but at the same time, we miss them so much. I'm lucky since Jamie only moved a few miles from me, but I still miss having her home. Poor Shea, she looks sooooo sad. Hugs to you both.

  13. Aww, that's so sweet Chris. I was in tears reading this, no wonder it took you so long to compose yourself. He looks like such a wonderful loving boy, such a credit to you. And those girls, oh dear...they're going to miss him so.

His future wife is a lucky girl!

  15. Chris,
What beautiful pics of you and your son. Shea looks like she lost her best-friend. I guess she did. :( Thank you for praying for Johnny. It does not look good and they are giving him a month. We are still praying for a GOD-SIZED MIRACLE! It is so hard, but we know God is good!

  17. Thanks for stopping by my SS - you are always such a faithful commenter and seeing your icon in my comments box always brings a smile.

And you are NOT a big baby. Sheesh, he's not even my son and I totally teared up at this post. Really. I mean, gosh. I feel like crying for little Shea and Avery. What wonderful adventures they'll have, tho, going to visit their brother and his wife as they grow. I remember my brother coming to spend weekends in the summer with my hubby and me when we were newlyweds. It was precious and fun and he felt so grown up. . .

As for the ice cream dipping?! Well, let's just say that THAT is precisely why I rarely buy it for our own freezer. It may be more expensive dollar wise to treat us all to a cone out, but my hips and my butt don't have to pay the ultimate price of keeping it in the house, no matter the great sale price in the store :)

  18. Gang's Momma...
You crack me up!!! I think my butt and hips have paid the ultimate price!! lol

And thanks for the sweet comments, this momma's heart so appreciates them!!:)

  19. Oh Chris... how hard that much be. And of course your soon-to-be daughter-in-law is wonderful. That doesn't make the distance any easier. And oh, how difficult for Shea and Avery. You can just see it all out there on little Shea's face. (((hugs)))
